This new LEED Silver, dining facility serves approximately 1,400 people and replaces several old WWII era dining facility administration centers (DFAC) that formerly served those in training at Fort McCoy. By consolidating dining services into two central facilities service and efficiency have greatly improved.
The facility is built utilizing conventional masonry construction and a standing seam metal roof, providing a low maintenance and highly durable exterior. The facility houses a commercial grade kitchen complete with food prep areas, cooking, dishwashing, refrigeration, dry storage, loading dock, as well as a high-end server and dining area. The facility also include support spaces such as administration offices, locker room and waste disposal.
