UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA HANSON HALL CARIBOU COFFEE REMODEL

Owner: University of Minnesota
Architect: Wilkus Architects
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Value: $240,000
Delivery Method: General Contractor

The Hanson Hall Caribou Coffee remodel project converted an existing Starbucks coffee shop into a new Caribou Coffee café. The project, though seemingly small, improved the overall experience for both faculty and staff on the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus by bringing in a new tenant to the space. Construction for the new Caribou Coffee cafe necessitated a proactive project approach, including collaboration with various project stakeholder and detailed coordination. Our team’s familiarity with the University’s staff, requirements and protocols helped to ensure a streamlined process that met brand requirements, NSF guidelines, and University expectations.

The project included new equipment, furniture and fixtures, as well as upgraded finishes and signage. Doors and hardware were replaced and modifications were made to the HVAC systems.
