Harriet Alexander Nature Center

This project transformed the Harriet Alexander Nature Center from an outdated, inefficient facility into a community destination and learning center. One of Roseville’s most loved community attractions, the Harriet Alexander Nature Center, was in need of an uplift. As part of the Parks & Recreation Renewal Program, LS Black was hired to update and improve the facility by replacing the lighting, flooring, and HVAC and electrical systems. Work also included a remodel to the lower level adding a kitchen and new restrooms. The team worked along side various project stakeholders (including Friends of Roseville Parks (FOR Parks), Friends of Roseville’s Harriet Alexander Nature Center (FORHANC), Roseville Parks & Recreation, facility staff, and community members) to balance wants against needs and manage the budget, while ensuring everyone was heard and expectations were met.
