The Lebanon Hills Visitors Center is the first park building in Minnesota to receive U.S. Green Building Council – Leadership in Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification. Using recycled and environmentally sustainable materials throughout, and sheltered by a vegetative roof system, the project was integrated into its location as seamlessly as possible- preserving the natural beauty around it.
The structure is the embodiment of green building, it’s green elements including it’s use of a green roof, recycled materials, geothermal heating, locally grown materials, rapidly renewable resources, and certified wood.
